Introduction
The Compuco Self Service Portal allows users to access the information they need at times that are convenient for them. Depending on your organisation type it may be referred to as the CiviPlus User Portal, Members Portal, but for the purpose of these articles we will call it the Self Service Portal, or SSP for short.
Typically users accessing the SSP are contacts in your CiviPlus system, for example Members, Supporters, people on committees or involved in cases - they will login to the SSP with credentials. However, are circumstances when anonymous users can access the SSP, for example to complete an application form or view public events.
What can you use the SSP for?
A summary of the most common functions is shown below - the SSP is very flexible so your organisation may not need all of the features in which case they may not be configured in your system.
Dashboards - When a user logs on to the SSP there are shown personalised content depending on their role and status.
Events - Users can view listings and register for public and members-only events
Applications Management - Users can fill in forms for a variety of requests (eg membership, grants, volunteering etc) and then track the progress of their application vis the SSP. The applications can then be reviewed by a pannel on the SSP
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) - Users can view their CPD records, which can be automatically recorded when they attend events/courses, or they can be logged manually by the user. or within the events module.
Organisation/Group Management - The "My Organisations" feature allows organisations you work to manage aspects of their contact data
Committees - A board and committees area where members of boards, groups and committees can download board and committee papers and view details of upcoming and past meetings
Members Directory - A filterable, searchable members directory directory with location searching.
Individual Membership Management - Members can login to view and update their memberships and personal details.
Cases - If you have configured on or more Cases workflows in CiviPlus you can allow users to view and manage case in which they are involved.
Certificates - .Users can view and download any Event/Course, Membership or Award Certificates they have gained
Invoices - Individual Users and Organisations can view, download and pay invoices online.
News - You can create announcements and news targeted to different user roles and statuses.
Your CiviPlus administrator can add and configure certain aspects of each area - this is covered in the collection called Managing your Compuco Self Service Portal. For users of the SSP there are a series of articles in the Using the Compuco Self Service Portal collection.
