Introduction to Block Content
The tab labelled CONTENT is where you can add images, edit text and configure buttons within each block. It is very easy to configure each type of content, resizing images, adding rich text and tokens (these are substituted for values like First Name when the mailing is generated) and button links.
Adding Content
The figure below shows our newsletter block with each configurable element numbered.
As standard the template includes a Pre-Header that shows an "Unsubscribe" option. If the recipient clicks this they will be be taken to a page asking them to confirm that they want to be removed from this specific mailing list.
Also in the Pre-Header is an option to "View in your browser". If the recipient clicks this then the message is shown in a browser window rather than their eMail client.
If you are in the Pre-Header block the left hand pane allows you to change some options on the Unsubscribe linke, and toggle the whole of the Pre-Header block on and off.
This element allows you add/remove an image to the block. There are three ways to do this:
Click the image icon to the right of the Redo button on the top menu, and select an exiting image from the Gallery that is displayed (you can also add new images to Gallery at this point)
Click the Upload icon in the image area and choose an image from your computer filing system
Simply drag an image file from your desktop to the image area.
Click the image icon to see the gallery of existing images (option a above)
This is where you can add a title for the block - which can use tokens for a very personalised experience. For example: Hi {contact.first_name}! Welcome to our newsletter, which will cause the first name of the recipient to be added when the email is sent.
You can include a Call To Action (CTA) button in the block, which can include your own text and tokens.
You can toggle display of the Title on and off.
You can toggle display of the Button on and off.
You can toggle the display of the Image on and off.
You can provide a url that will be opened if the image is clicked, and provide alt text for screen readers to aid accessibility.
You should provide a url that will be opened when the button is clicked. Without this the button will effectively be inactive.
Finally, as described earlier you can toggle the display of the Pre-Header on and off.
Once you have added appropriate content to each of the blocks, and configured it the way you want, you can finish the template by adding styling choices (i.e. colours and fonts). This is covered in the next article.
