Introduction
If you want to run a mailing report the best place to start is to pick the mailing reports option - navigate to Reports -> Mailing Reports
From there you can see if any of the pre-existing reports suit your needs or generate a new one from one of the templates.
For this example we’ll use the Mail Summary Report, since it gives us the most options to put into the report and filter for.
Let’s start by picking what columns we want in our report. By default you’ll always have the mailing name. Let’s add some standard fields to interrogate further. This will be the intended recipients, delivered, bounces, unique opens, open rate, unique clicks and clickthrough rate.
For our filters, we’re going to take a look at only emails sent out this quarter to see how they performed.
Once the filters have been selected, click the REFRESH RESULTS button on your report and you should see your filtered selection.
We can see that we’ve sent out the 1 email this quarter so far and we can see how it performed. Had we sent out multiple emails these would also be included on this list.
From the actions box at the top of the report you can then choose to save the report for future use (so you don’t need to generate it again!) or export to either a CSV file or a PDF.
With mailing reports you can also see which of your contacts opened and clicked on your emails. To see these details, run either the opened or clickthrough templates. The clickthrough report will even show which URL your contact clicked through to, meaning you can keep track of which of your links are being interacted with the most.
The reporting area of CiviPlus is more than powerful enough to show most of your basic reporting needs. If you need an advanced report, you might want to look into using Search Kit which is covered in a separate article in the Knowledge Base.
