Overview
An opportunity record proceeds through statuses set up against the particular case type. This article will cover how to manually update these statuses through the lifecycle of the record. An alternative to manual adjustment is the use of CiviRules automation, covered in a separate article here.
Manually Updating a Status
To manually update the individual opportunity record's status:
Navigate to the individual record
Via the Dashboard
*Case Instance* --> Dashboard --> Select record (filters optional)
Via Manage Cases
*Case Instance* --> Manage *Case Instance* --> Select record in scrolling feed (filters optional)
Via Search options in CiviPlus
e.g. Advanced Search
Via Reports
At the top right-hand side of the screen, select the box with the record's current status
Our example record:
Choose the status you would like the record to be amended to
A pop-up screen will appear with options to add further elements to the change
Prospect Amount: Unique Sales Opportunity Tracking field where you can log the value of the Prospect
Probability: Another unique option
Expected Date: Timeline option
Details: Area to log internal details about the Prospect
Activity Details: The status change will automatically be logged as an activity on the record timeline. Here you can add extra details if required.
Attachment(s): Add any files relevant to the status change
Send a Copy: Email a copy of the status change activity to case role(s)
Schedule Follow-up: Set up a follow-up activity connected to this status change
