About the Resource content type

A Resource page is used to present longer-form content that provides users with in-depth guidance — for example, information on legislation, policy, or best practices.

Images for the page header and card can be added to individual Resource items, but are not required. When not provided, these images may be inherited from the associated 'Resource type' taxonomy to help maintain a consistent visual theme across similar content.

Additionally, a Resource thumbnail image field is available and, if used, will appear in the right-hand sidebar of the page.

Card images will be displayed when the Resource listing cards paragraph is used in other content.

  • Any content paragraph can be added in the page main content area.

Fields which collect your Resource details are collated into horizontal tabs, click through the tabs and complete the fields for your Resource content.

Header Image Requirements & Recommendations

The Header image appears as a full-width banner at the top of the content page and is styled using background-size: cover and background-position: center. This ensures it scales responsively across devices and screen sizes.

We recommend uploading a high-quality image at 1920×442px (16:9 ratio) to maintain clarity and avoid stretching or pixelation on wider monitors. Keeping the subject of the image centred helps preserve visual impact across different breakpoints, as edge content may be cropped on smaller screens.

If no header image is uploaded:

  1. The system checks for an image attached to the selected ‘Type’ taxonomy.

  2. If not available, it falls back to the default image set in the theme for the content type.

  3. If neither are provided, a default dark grey background will be displayed.

For the best results, ensure all content items use a properly sized and composed header image, and configure taxonomy or theme fallback options as needed.
